Holovis gives Fantasy Island's Magic Mountain a frightening makeover for Halloween

The Mountain at Fantasy Island, Lincolnshire, UK, has undergone a spooky transformation for Halloween.

Experience design firm Holovis has given the usually friendly mountain a frightening makeover, just in time for the scariest night of the year.

To create the new show Holovis utilised the existing mapping to create a brand new projection featuring skulls and pumpkins.

The original Magical Mountain show, also designed by Holovis, launched earlier this year as a means to extend the guest visit. Holovis reports that since its opening the daily 9:30pm show has been keeping visitors at Fantasy Island longer, as a result the park has seen an increase in spend per head, as well as ROI benefits.

Peter Cliff, creative director for Holovis, says: “This is a fangtastic example of how the digital medium can be utilised to create a new experience using existing infrastructure, which is far more cost effective than a new attraction but just as impactful. Once the original space has been mapped the media can be amended year on year and season by season to keep evolving the guest experience.”
